March 30 - Objective

2 Corinthians 5:9

9 So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it.

As Christians, our goal in life should be to be like Christ. If we are in a crowd, or with a friend, or by ourselves, we are to be more like Christ. Jesus lived the perfect life and carried out God's will in his life. He didn't refuse to teach others or to help others. When God called him to do something...he did it.

We cannot be Christlike if we are not in the Word of God. We must study the word, then put that into practice. Jesus practiced what he preached...perfectly. In John, we see that Jesus is the Word in the flesh. He came in human form to carry out God's will on earth and to be the perfect and only sacrifice to save the world from death through sin. Finally, from studying and practicing the Word in our life, we should teach it. Can others see the Word in action in our lives? In the body and in the spirit, we should be living for one purpose:

To glorify God by striving to be more like his Son everyday.
