March 24 - Shift

Romans 12:2

2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will.

This verse is very, very applicable to our lives as Christians. Everyday, our country and the world all over is shifting farther and farther away from God and his will. It's really no surprise that this shift is occurring. Our world is saying...

- homosexuality is not a sin and it is okay, just accept it.

- abortion is perfectly fine, just legalize it.

- alcoholism is not bad, everyone is doing it.

- pornography is not as bad as cheating on your spouse.

- legalizing ___________ is necessary because _______'s need it.

- God does not exist so it's only logical to live for myself.

and so on...

Paul tells us in Romans that we are to be transformed through God's word and his divine will in order not to be caught up in the sins of the world. The world is full of deception and perversion from God's holy and perfect plan. Through this spiritual strengthening, we can stand up against whatever issue is shifting away from God. If we conform to the things of the world, we are of the world. Last time I checked, we are to set our minds and hearts on things of God, which are holy and pure. Giving in and accepting homosexuality, drugs, alcohol, prostitution, and everything thing else angers God because it is sin...against him.

I've heard so many worldly debates and defenses such as:

- studies have shown...

- statistics prove...

- there is no other evidence besides what the Bible says...

NO OTHER EVIDENCE IS NEEDED BESIDES WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS!

God does not change. Sin from creation is sin to this current day. When Christ rips the sky open and draws his people home, I will be thankful that I took him seriously.
