March 27 - Meditation

Psalm 104: 33-34

33 I will sing to the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live. 34 May my meditation be pleasing to him, as I rejoice in the Lord.

I find myself coming to the Lord in prayer when I need to confess my sin or when it's a desperate moment in life in which things are not going all that well. This means, I am not consistent in my communication with God.

We tend to assume that God is just in the business of 'doing' for us. However, as this verse reflects, our prayer, worship, lifestyle, and meditation should be centered around one thing: his glory. When our lives are focused on living to please God, his will is carried out through us. Instead of only going to God to confess sins or to complain or beg for a turnaround in the events that are happening, we should be consistent in our communication. Praying daily, in the good times and the bad times. Everything we have is from and of God. We all have so many blessings to be thankful for and assume that God knows that we are thankful. Maybe he does...but through our prayers we are to give thanksgiving and then present our needs and seek guidance within our lives.

This week, I need to be in prayer everyday on a consistent basis, with my overall goal being to be pleasing to my Creator.
