Psalm 24:1-2,5-6, 10
1 The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; 2 for he founded it upon the seas and established it upon the waters...5 He will receive blessing from the Lord and vindication from God his Savior. 6 Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek your face, O God of Jacob...10 Who is he, this King of glory? The Lord Almighty- he is the King of glory.
I find myself forgetting exactly who God is and how big He is at times. Of course, I know that God is the Creator of this universe, but I become selfish and prideful at times. We take matters into our own hands, assuming that we can take care of all of our own problems. We assume what we own is truly our possessions and nobody else's. Everything belongs to God and every person was created individually for a purpose by God.
As a teenager, I would always assume that my mom would have dinner on the table for me when I would get home from school or basketball practice. She provided for me and made my search for food so much easier. She did this out of love and this is much like God's care for His people. If we had complete control over our own lives, we would totally wreck and destroy every good thing in it. Thankfully, God has ultimate control over what happens and the outcome in each and every circumstance. Granted, the Lord allows us to make decisions, but He can give and He can take...
He gives a lot of love...to those who seek His face.
