Go Heels!
John 3:30
30 He must become greater; I must become less.
This is pretty simple to understand. God, the Creator, must increase. I, a sinner, must decrease. To make it even more simplistic:
GOD > me
Everything I do should reflect the blessing God has placed in my life. When I talk, the words I present to those around me should be uplifting and pleasing to the Lord. If I do not do this, God decreases, and so do I. Too many people are representing the world everyday: drugs, cursing, violence, tattoos, alcohol, lust, abuse, partying, affairs, idolatry, greed, and on and on. God wants His people to represent Him in our everyday lives through: prayer, love, compassion, patience, self-control, obedience, dedication, and more.
In order to increase your bank account you must put money into it. You can't take money out, while never depositing anything and expect to increase your bank account. Being a Christian is an investment. We are making efforts to increase God's glory. Anything else is selfish and withdrawing from God's will. This is not an easy task to take on...but the Lord promises us power as long as we are faithful.
What can you do to decrease yourself and to increase in the Sovereign ruler of this world and everything and everyone in it?
