Week 20 ( 20 Min Run : 20 Push-Ups : 20 Sit-Ups)
1 Peter 2:24
24 He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.
Tonight, our cat, Rhea, decided to climb my back. She left a 7 inch or so deep scratch/cut in my lower back...
After throwing her across the room (I didn't really throw her...although, it would have been ideal for the situation), I thought of how Christ took beatings and was mocked before the crucifixion. He was spat on, stripped bare, forced to wear a crown of thorns, whipped, beaten, and forced to carry his own cross. The weight of the world was literally on his back as he bore every sin that you and I have ever committed. Those sins have been acquitted through God's sacrifice. Peter reminds us that Christ died with a purpose and we should be reminded of it everyday.
No one could ever or will ever be able to sacrifice like Jesus did...perfectly. No one will ever need to do so...
