Jeremiah 14:22
22 Do any of the worthless idols of the nations bring rain? Do the skies themselves send down showers? No, it is you, O Lord our God. Therefore our hope is in you, for you are the one who does all this.
Jeremiah was right on with this verse (as well as others of course). We, just as the people in Judah in 600 B.C., are busy working our fingers or staring at our idols. TV, media, video games, coffee shops, ATM's, high end sports cars, multi-million dollar homes...they all have one thing in common: they are worthless. In the end, those idols will not be there for us. Our homes won't save us. Our money won't heal us. There is one and only one God that is reliable, dependable and everything you need in life.
Our hope should be in God...not the empty things of this world.
